Restoran Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee, SS15

I'd received flyers and pamphlets on the new chilli pan mee store in SS15. Googled a little bit of the restaurant, and you would find that this is actually a chain restaurant branched out from the original Super Kitchen Food Chain.

One fine day when we decided to have lunch at Uncle Seng (also a restaurant in SS15 near the Taylor's Business School), we found out that the restaurant would be closed till the 30th of April 2012. I was pretty disappointed as I was craving for Uncle Seng for weeks and well Bee was shocked to see the place closed. So she was sad! Good thing that I remembered the Chilli Pan Mee Store which we passed by quite some time ago and thus we decided to give it a try!

The Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee Menu which was kinda resembled the Chilli Hotness!

Here is a preview of the inside of the menu!
The restaurant environment resembled slightly towards the olden days where there were no fancy pictures on the well nor fancy looking tables but just the traditional olden day Kopitiam Style which suited the restaurant in my opinion. The service was pretty alright as we were served very quickly and the food came to us pretty fast as well. Some pictures of the environment of the restaurant for your perusal!

The Typical Olden day Kopitiam Look!

Ooooh! The Chilli! Yum Yum!

Hygiene must be their priority, they covered the utensils with a cloth

The Umbra!

The umbra which Bee ordered was very 'kau'. It is not a bad thing, but it was a little too concentrated for me. So it was super sour there. Otherwise, a really good drink. Herbal tea that I ordered was so-so, just like any normal drink.

Bug checking his mails and also playing SMURFS! (oooops! Caught ya!)
After about roughly 5 minutes of waiting time, our food finally arrived! Bee had their specialty, the Chilli Pan Mee whereas I had a Minced Pork with Char Siew Pan Mee (Can't really recall the full name of the dish but the menu is well illustrated with pictures and the names so you would know as soon as you see the picture)

The spicy kick!

Bee was pretty used to adding chilli into my Pan Mee back in Face to Face (also in SS15) as their House Specialty Pan Mee usually requires you to add chilli into your Pan Mee by yourself to suit your own liking. The chilli was pretty spicy! Even more than Face2face, but less than JoJo Kitchen.  Both the noodles were a little dry in my opinion. I had a hard time swallowing the noodles as it kept sticking to my teeth and throat. To dilute the dryness factor, I had to add some soup in to make it more bearable. Other than that, the pork pan mee was pretty alright, but not as memorable than the chilli pan mee.

The Pan Mee also came with Vegetable Soup which I usually don't take as it might be full of MSG but Bug usually takes it and he always finishes his whole bowl of soup! Gosh!

Vegetable Soup!

Just when I decided to take some vegetable from my soup I realised that the vegetables in my soup aren't fresh and in fact they look rather spoiled as they have yellow spots on the leaves and have a very blunt taste as well. This may not be a very good sign towards the expectation I have towards this newly opened restaurant if they do not check on the quality of the food they serve their customers.

The Vegetable with the unusual yellow spots!
My Verdict:
Overall, in my opinion, the restaurant provides pretty good service with their speed of service and their waiter and waitresses attentiveness towards their customers but the food quality of the restaurant have a lot to improve as we have already encountered a disappointment at the food quality through the vegetables which they served us. The Chilli 'Hotness' would not be compared very thoroughly as they may have their very own recipe which caters to their own customer's needs which we may not know.

For their noodles, it was a larger serving as compared to Face2Face or JoJo's Pan Mee, and thus it is more value-for-money here. However, it was a little too dry for my liking, but it could be easily remedied by adding a little soup into their noodles. Taste wise is pretty good. Even though I can't remember the individual billing for each item, what I do remember is that the entire bill came up to less than RM20 for both of us, very affordable indeed.

All in all, this Restaurant is an alright place to go if you are looking at having an affordable fast meal if you're rushing for time but bare in mind that there might be parking issue as the famous SS15 is always filled with cars so be prepared to double park if you can't find any parking. Also do remember to be considerate and put your phone number on your dashboard if you are double parking! =)
