Pak Li Kopitiam @ Shah Alam

This is a week filled with meet ups and get-togethers. Two days after my Dragon-I get-together, I was dragged *ahem*, I meant brought to a kopitiam in Shah Alam by my music friends, Leena and Ee Lyz.

Honestly, I had never heard about Pak Li Kopitiam in my entire life. After they introduced me to this restaurant, I Googled out their main page, where you can check it out right here. The first impression after visiting their page is that they are very 1Malaysia concept, where they aspire to create a muhhibah ambience, with good food and authentic tastes. Did you know the name Pak Li was chosen based on the muhhibah concept?

The name Pak Li was chosen as a tribute to all the gracious Pak Cik and Mak Cik who contributed ideas over the years that helped refine our recipes to what they are today, and alos due to the facts that Ali and Ah lee are very common names of Malays and Chinese.

This is not a hard place to find, but it is located within the housing area. Get on route to I-City, and Pak Li Kopitiam is not too far off already. Check out the driving directions here.

So welcome to Pak Li Kopitiam, the place for good and cheap food.

Was presented with a simple menu. Feast your peepers on what else they have to offer here!

Our menu

Leena insisted that I have to try their Lemon Chicken Rice (Rm5.50). I like lemon chicken rice, so I happily gave it a try there. I order their Iced Asam Limau (RM2.90) as my drink.

Lemon Chicken Rice (RM5.50)

My first impression was that it does not look very appetizing. It is just a simple slab of chicken, drenched with lemon sauce, with a cup of rice. I could not be any more wrong. The chicken was perfectly cooked until tender, but the skin was crispy and not soggy. The lemon sauce is not too sour, and it compliments the chicken beautifully. The rice which came together was just heavenly. It tasted like the chicken rice kinda rice, where the rice was cooked with chicken stock. Every grain of rice is separated (I HATE mushy wet rice), and fragrant. Yummy yummy yummy! No wonder it is one of their best sellers!

Iced Asam Limau (RM2.40)

I was not disappointed with my choice of Asam Limau. Their drink was not the dilute kind. Not too sour, not too sweet. Just the way I like it. Definitely no complains on this drink.

Verdict: Good food, at cheap prices. Every one of us had the same thing, Lemon chicken rice because it was just so good! For Rm5.50 per plate, it is definitely a steal. I will definitely come back to try their other offerings in the menu. Gonna drag Bug with me the next time here! Take note that Pak Li Kopitiam charges government tax of 6%.

A group picture of the trio whose friendship had withstand the test of time. Love my peeps! :D
