After four years of slaving over assignments, tests, reports, research, lab work; I have finally graduated.
YIPPEEE!!!
Oh gosh, did I just say yippee? that sounded so high school. *facepalm*
But yes, I'm glad to say that on the 13 of March, 2012; I am officially a Monash graduate.
A chapter of my life closes.
Feels so nostalgic. Just remembered the first day as an undergraduate. Felt so timid and shy during orientation. I remember stressing over our 300 page report, just a year ago. I remember rushing with my batch for lab equipment for our research topic. I remember the stress and confusion we went through for our design project just half a year ago.
Where did all the time gone??
Even though I had graduated, I had never stopped learning. Hence:
~ANCORA IMPARO~
Monash's motto
It means Yet I am learning.
Learning is a lifelong process, we could not escape it. Even so, we could still celebrate the fruits of our labour at certain milestones in our life. Yes, it is sad to leave our friends from uni. It may be daunting to step out into the real world. But yet, this chapter of life has to close, and a new chapter begins.
But let us celebrate the dawn of a new era.. An ending and a new beginning..
MONASH GRADUATION CEREMONY
Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel
13 March 2012, 5pm
So, I started off by prepping myself for the upcoming graduation ceremony. I went to do my makeup at Yves Rocher Sunway Pyramid as I did not have a complete set of makeup (concealer, powder, foundation, liquid eyeliner, etc.) Yes, I was not very into makeup, so yea.
Instead of spending my cash on the makeup products, which I know that I would rarely use, I would rather spend my money on their service where they could do a great job, than where I would do a so-so job here. And I was right! Check out the pictures for yourself!
Halfway through
The finished product.
Yes, I know it looks really heavy at first glance, but when I took the pictures, it was nice and it emphasized my features. At least I would not look so washed out instead.
See what I meant?
These were the makeup artists which worked on me on that day. They were superbly friendly, and their skills ain't that bad! I took the day makeup package which costs me RM55. Not too bad, as a whole set of foundation/concealer/powder/eye liner would cost be triple that amount.
Do give Yves Rocher a go if you need any makeup service for any function. =) Trust me, you would not regret it.
Some graduation pictures that I had taken. There are many pictures, and I'm quite lazy to go around giving them all captions, so I think the pictures would be self explanatory. Enjoy!
After robing & before the ceremony
Did you guys realised that there were something wrong with ALL of the pictures???
Any clue????
Hint: S-A-S-H
YES!!! Could you believe it? For our batch of graduation, we did not receive the sash in time for the graduation. This is just non-sensical. The reason given by Monash: The sash did not clear immigration in time for the ceremony. I just could not believe it! 4 years of hard work, and we were not graduating with the sash. First time I had ever heard about it. This just shows the poor time management on Monash's part. Utter bullshit.
Thank goodness I have collected the sash from the Ede and Ravenscroft (Robing company) in time for my graduation official photoshoot. Pictures would be up real soon! =)
My graduation presents:
I would like to convey my upmost gratitude to my family members for all the love and support, lecturers, tutors who had given the encouragement and guidance, my chemical friends who had been together with me during the hardship, and non-chemical friends who had been a great pillar of support, and everybody else who had touched my life in many unexpected ways. I thank you all, with great gratitude from the bottom of my heart.
My personal thanks to Bug, who was my personal assistant on that day (Poor guy), by driving me up and down to run my errands, accompanying me everywhere, be my camera man, and everything while holding all my stuff during the graduation which was ALOT of stuff. Thank you so much me Bug! Don't worry, he would be rewarded in my way! =D
So it is with great honour to announce that..
I had finally graduated with a Bachelors of Engineering (Hons.) with first class honours!
Time to pop the champagne and celebrate!
Before I end this post, I would like to congratulate all the graduates from Monash University who had graduated in the March 2012 ceremony. No matter what happens in the future, we would forever be linked together as alumni of Monash University.
Last but not least:
~Congratulations to Chemical Engineers Graduates~
Monash University Sunway Campus,
Class of 2011
Love, Bee
